There were several items that need to be brought to the general membership’s attention. Rather than sending you numerous e-mails, we combined them into one.

1. The Band Banquet:
  • Will be here soon. You can purchase tickets for $10 at the band hall on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays after school.
  • Please note that you may purchase tickets even if you have a fee balance on your charms account.
  • Volunteers are still needed for all shifts … decorations … set-up … chaperone during banquet … clean-up … email Keeley Bonner at banquet@timerviewband.com to volunteer.
  • Gift cards, cash or other items that a band student might want are needed for the prize drawings.

2. Band Scholarship:

Attention Seniors!!! Scholarship applications are available from the band directors. The application and eligibility information can also be found on the Timberview Band Parents website (timberviewband.com). The application deadline is April 26, 2012, so act now for an opportunity to receive a $500 college scholarship. Winners will be announced at the Band Banquet on May 5.

3. UIL Performance Dates and Times:

Your attendance at any and all of these performances would be appreciated. A full schedule will be provided soon.
  • Symphonic Band (third band) will perform at 10:10 am on Tuesday, April 17, at Seguin High School.
  • Wind Ensemble (second band) will perform at 4:15 pm on Tuesday, April 17, at Seguin High School.
  • Wind Symphony (first band) will perform at 3:30 pm on Wednesday, April 18, at Seguin High School.

4. Board Positions for 2012/2013 Academic Year:

The following positions are available for next year’s Timberview High School Band Parents Board. A description of the duties for each position can be found in the Timberview Band Parents Bylaws, which are posted on the Timberview Band Parents website. If you have questions on a particular position, please feel free to contact the person who is currently serving in that position. They would be happy to answer your questions or provide you with any additional information you might need.
  • President (elected by the general membership)
  • Vice-President (elected by the general membership)
  • Secretary (elected by the general membership)
  • Treasurer (elected by the general membership)
  • Parliamentarian (appointed by the Board, but they would appreciate knowing if you have an interest in this position)
  • Spirit Wear Coordinator (elected by the general membership)
  • Fundraising Coordinator (elected by the general membership)
  • Band Banquet Coordinator (elected by the general membership)
  • Hospitality Coordinator (elected by the general membership)
  • TNT Coordinator (elected by the general membership)
  • Pit Crew Coordinator (appointed by the Band Directors, but they would appreciate knowing if you have an interest in this position)
  • Color Guard Coordinator (appointed by the Band Directors, but they would appreciate knowing if you have an interest in this position)
  • Webmaster (appointed by the Band Directors, but they would appreciate knowing if you have an interest in this position)
  • Uniform Coordinator (appointed by the Band Directors, but they would appreciate knowing if you have an interest in this position)
  • Chaperone Coordinator (appointed by the Band Directors, but they would appreciate knowing if you have an interest in this position)
 

*****Applebee’s Flapjack Fundraiser has been cancelled*****

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel our Applebee’s fundraiser planned for this weekend, April 14th. I will be contacting those that purchased tickets to get your money refunded to you.

2012 04 09 THS Volunteer Hours

If you find discrepancies in the hours, contact that events Coordinator with your concerns and once it’s verified, any adjustments will be requested by that event coordinator.

What:
Wind Ensemble (2nd band) rehearsal
Every member of the Wind Ensemble will be in attendance.

When:
Wednesday 2:45-4:45.

Why:
Next week (Tuesday the 17th) is UIL.

This is the most important concert of the season. Also, there are THREE pep rallies scheduled this week during our class period. So we will definitely be losing rehearsal time :-( .

Also:
There will be no sectionals this week.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday will have times available for pass offs.

I will not hear pass offs after this week.
