Its Homecoming Week at Timberview and he Wolf Band continues to refine its marching show and make weekly improvements to the 2013 show entitled “Instinct”.
The Band will be on a normal rehearsal schedule this week as the directors have decided to cancel the stadium practice on Monday due to possible rain in the forecast, we can accomplish more by staying at THS where we can go inside quickly, if the weather changes . All rehearsals will be at Timberview on our usual schedule. This week will be full of homecoming activities for the kids and there is NO marching band contest this coming weekend. Homecoming will feature a District 7-5A battle against local rival South Grand Prairie High at Newsom Stadium.
The Wolf Band performed at the Carrollton Tournament of Champions marching contest last Saturday. THS had a fantastic day and the band managed to stay mostly dry through the hot and rainy weather. We won our class, and were able to actually squeeze in a finals performance and not get rained out as the previous two weekends! The Wolf Band placed 5th overall in preliminary round and 6th overall in the evening Finals out of 20 bands in competition. The staff is very pleased with the progress and competitiveness of the show this season.
Rehearsal schedule: Regular band rehearsals this week on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. and on Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Remember the calendar change as there is NO Stadium practice this Monday!
Friday, October 18th, is Homecoming and features a District 7-5A contest against local area rival, South Grand Prairie High Warriors at Vernon Newsom Stadium, 3700 East Broad Street, Mansfield, (TX 360 & Broad St) for a 7:30 p.m. contest. Game day details and agenda will be posted on Thursday. You may want to arrive a little early to get your favorite seats as homecoming is usually a well attended event. Go Wolves, beat the Warriors!!
