Congratulations to Scholarship Recipients
Congratulations to Jonathan Pannes and Josue Garcia who were selected to receive
the 2008 Timberview Band Parents Scholarship Awards.
The
Scholarship Committee had a difficult time deciphering amongst the many
outstanding applicants as they are all excellent band students. Through all of
the hard work, dedication and scholastic aptitude each student portrayed, the
Scholarship Committee would like to thank each and every one of the students and
their families for their support.
May your
future endeavors to further your educational achievements always include
continued musical enrichment.
Congratulations to our Band Director
Mr. Sonny Martinez has been elected to membership in Phi Beta Mu, an international school bandmaster fraternity.
Established in 1938, Phi Beta Mu is an honorary, non-political, non-profit fraternity. There are approximately 300 active members in Texas with additional chapters in most of the 50 states
as well as Canada, Japan and Europe.
Mr. Martinez was inducted at the annual new member’s breakfast on February 16, 2008, in San Antonio, Texas. He was sponsored by Mark McGahey of Keller.
Co-sponsors were Bill Watson of North Richland Hills, and Gordon Hart of Arlington.
In order to be considered for membership in Phi Beta Mu, one must have at least ten years of successful teaching experience and must have produced and maintained an outstanding and consistent band program
in the public schools and/or universities.

TNT Fireworks Shifts FULL
Thank you to those who have
volunteered at TNT. Without your support we would not be able to succeed
at our most profitable fundraiser. If you did not get to volunteer this
summer...Don't worry. There will be another opportunity at the end of the
year.
Don't forget you are all invited to celebrate our TNT success at our Jamboree.
TNT volunteers will receive a $2 discount on tickets. For more
